ITALIAN RIVIERA: Historical villages and local traditions –7 days tour
1st day: Arrival
Flight to Nice or Genoa Airport. Evening Bus transfer from Airport to Diano Marina. Check-in in the hotel. Dinner and overnight
2nd day: Olive oil museum – Imperia – Cervo
After breakfast, we will move to Imperia to visit the olive-tree museum. It is dedicated to the production of olive oil, one of the most famous activities of Liguria. Afterwards, possibility to visit the oil plant and discover the main production phases. Finally we will visit the Emporium where we can have a small tasting of the products they offer. We will then move to the port of Oneglia, which offers numerous bars, restaurants and pizzerias, where you can have a free lunch break. In the afternoon we will move to Cervo an old middle age village on the sea coast. Guided visit of the historical centre and its monuments, such as the Castle, Corallini Church and Oratorio Santa Caterina. Cervo has recently been awarded as one of the most beautiful Italian villages. Bus transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
3rd day: Dolceacqua – Wine producer – Sanremo
After breakfast meeting with guide and bus transfer to Dolceacqua. Visit of this beautiful middle age village, its tiny alleys, the church, the Doria’s castle and the hump-backed bridge, famous because it inspired Claude Monet on some of his paintings. For lunch time, we will visit a local wine producer. Tasting of its wines served with local slices, raw meats, cheese and a local dish. After lunch we will move to Sanremo. We will discover its city centre with Casino, Ariston theatre location of the national music festival, historical part called Pigna and Russian church. Optional visit to Villa Ormond garden. Return trip to Diano marina, dinner and overnight in hotel.
4th day: Santa Margherita – Trekking to Potrofino – Boat trip
Bus transfer from Diano Marina to Santa Margherita ligure. Meeting with local guide and trekking to Portofino. Visit of Portofino, Picturesque fisher-men village, hidden in the high rocky coast, that has become main spot for the elite tourism. Free time for lunch. Afternoon boat trip to Santa Margherita free time to enjoy its beautiful touristic centre. In case of rough sea conditions, boat trips are substituted with local shuttle buses. Return to Diano Marina, dinner in hotel and overnight.
5th day: Trekking on Ligurian Alps – Cooking class – Cheese tasting
Breakfast in hotel and Bus trip from Diano Marina to Ligurian Alps. Meeting with a trekking guide that will take us on a trekking tour to Mount Armetto, and give us info about Fauna and Flora of this Alpine area. Lunch in Rifugio (mountain hostel) with cooking lesson. We will learn how to bake focaccia, pasta and sugo. Optional local cheese tasting. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
6th day: Alassio – Via Julia Augusta – Albenga and visit to an oil producer
Trekking on via Julia Augusta, a terrific Roman path 2000 years old, from Alassio to Albenga with a spectacular Sea-view. Roman necropolis ruins are still visible and all objects found are in the Roman museum in Albenga, that will be visited later, in the afternoon. Free time for lunch in Albenga, roman historical town. Guided visit of city centre, roman glass museum (optional visit to roman naval museum, where rest of a Roman Shipwreck are shown). Bus transfer to a local oil producer to discover and taste all the secrets of this ancient tradition typical of Liguria region.
7th day: Diano Marina – Departure
After breakfast, check out from hotel. Free time in Diano Marina for relaxing on the beach or a last visit in town centre. Bus transfer back to the Airport.
Excellence of Italian Riviera: History, nature and traditions – 5 days tour
1st day: Arrival
Flight to Nice or Genoa Airport. Evening Bus transfer from Airport to Diano Marina. Check-in in the hotel. Dinner and overnight
2nd day: Dolceacqua, Cooking class and wine tasting
Breakfast in hotel. Bus trip from Diano Marina to Isolabona. We will get to a local restaurant for cooking class with chef and lunch with regional dishes. After lunch we will move by bus to Dolceacqua for guided visit of the old medieval village, one of the most famous in Liguria, and visit to a local wine producer. Dinner in hotel and overnight
3rd day: Albenga, trekking and Roman history
Trekking on via Julia Augusta, a terrific Roman path 2000 years old, from Alassio to Albenga with a spectacular Sea-view. Roman necropolis ruins are still visible and all objects found are in the Roman museum in Albenga, that will be visited later, in the afternoon. Free time for lunch in Albenga, roman historical town. Guided visit of city centre, roman glass museum (optional visit to roman naval museum, where rest of a Roman Shipwreck are shown). Bus transfer to Alassio to visit the famous “budello”, its main antic alley.
Dinner in hotel or local Pizzeria!
4th day: Oil producer and Whalewatching
Breakfast in hotel. We will move to Diano San Pietro to visit a local Olive oil producer and taste his delicious products. Bus Transfer to Imperia Harbour (30 min.) for Wahlewatching: 5 h boat excursion looking for Cetaceans. Due to the abundant presence of Cetaceans in ligurian waters, a marine mammals sanctuary named Pelagos was fonde in 1991. This protected area extends from the Ligurean Sea to France and Principality of Monaco waters. Dinner in hotel and overnight.
5th day: Cervo ligure – Departure
Breakfast in hotel and check-out. Baggage packing and load
Morning visit of Cervo ligure, nominated as one of the most beautiful italian villages. Possibility of a short walk in the natural park behind the village, with a breathtaking sight directly on sea. Pic-nic with packet lunch.
